I got hired at a relatively small local firm and I was writing online content and I was hired by a lawyer. He is going to train me for a month on the basics of the firm like drafting contracts, pleadings, etc. And then for the next month we are going to train together on SEO and everything digital marketing. He also wants me to do and learn social media management and do infographics and maybe videos and even voiceovers. Even if I got a lot of compensation, I felt like it wasn’t a job for just one or two. There are people who are hired specifically to manage social media, graphic designers and content writers. I don’t think I can do it all.

These are essentially tasks for a whole team. Content writer, SEO specialist, SMM specialist, designer, possibly a video editor and sound engineer. The expectation that one person can handle all of this, especially in a short time frame and without the relevant experience, is too high and, to put it mildly, unprofessional.

For lawyers, SEO promotion is a separate area, and without experience it’s difficult to quickly get into it. It would be better if the boss took a look at how the pros work on this website. They have everything tailored specifically for law firms. The right keys, local search, links that really increase trust. They do not just write texts, but make sure that clients find services for the right queries. Their team has specialists in each area, and it’s clear that there is more than one person pulling everything there.
