I buy shampoo that says it’s sulfate-free. I buy it because I like the smell. Sodium lauryl sulfate has never caused me any problems, but I can’t find a regular mint-flavored shampoo.
I can find information about sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate, but not about “sodium laureth sulfosuccinate.” What is it, and how is it supposedly different from others?

If you just like the smell, that’s okay, but it’s nice to know that a formula with this ingredient is a bit of a compromise. It cleanses and lathers, but doesn’t dry out your hair. So you can use it without any worries, especially if the product feels and smells right to you.

Dysodium lauret sulfosustent is a soft surfactant that is often used in shampoos, shower gels and cleanser. It’s popular for its cleaning properties, which eliminates tightness and dryness associated with rigid sulfates. Compared to professional cosmetic chemistry, dysodium lauret sulfosukinate is considered a soft and safe alternative. This does not disrupt lipid barrier, does not disturb the skin, and produces a thick, creamy latter.
