Septic system acting up

Trying to figure out if I’m overthinking this or if something’s actually wrong. Lately we’ve noticed slow drains around the house and a faint sewage smell outside near where the septic tank is. Nothing is overflowing yet, but it doesn’t feel normal either. We haven’t had the system checked in a while, so I’m wondering what the first step should be. Do you start with pumping, inspection, or checking the pump and filters? Would appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with early septic issues.

Slow drains and unusual outdoor odors are classic early warning signs of a system reaching its capacity. Consulting a qualified septic contractor in Stanwood, WA is the best first step to determine if you need a simple pump-out or a more technical inspection. A professional can check your filters and the pump’s mechanical health to prevent a complete backup into your home. Addressing these minor symptoms now will save you from the high costs of emergency repairs later.
