After the last few heavy rains, I started noticing moisture and even small puddles forming in my basement. At first it was just a damp smell, but now it feels like the problem is getting worse. I checked for obvious leaks inside, but everything seems fine, so I’m guessing the issue might be coming from outside the foundation.

Water damage is one of those issues that many homeowners underestimate until it becomes a serious problem. Even small signs like damp walls or a slight musty smell can indicate deeper structural concerns. I’ve been researching solutions recently, and what stood out to me is how important it is to act early rather than wait for visible damage. While looking into different services, I found wet basement repair to be a useful reference point for understanding how professional waterproofing is approached and why proper assessment matters before starting any work.

Does anyone here believe in planning home repairs around good luck days or planetary hours? I need to get some electrical work done like fixing a few outlets and maybe adding some lights, but I have no idea how to find a reliable person for small jobs without paying a fortune. Any tips on finding a handyman in Toronto who actually shows up and does quality work without overcharging?

I don’t plan repairs around luck or anything, but I get wanting things to just work out. Last spring, my kitchen lights started flickering and two outlets in the living room just died. I was dreading finding someone for such small jobs. A handyman I’d used before called TorrHandyman came to mind, so I gave ‘em a call. The guy showed up when he said he would, fixed the lights and both outlets in one visit, and cleaned up after himself. No crazy bill, no drama. I was relieved ‘cause I’d heard plenty of horror stories about people ghosting or doing messy work. Maybe I just got lucky, but it went fine for me.
