We made the mistake of ordering furniture that was “close enough” once, and it ended up looking awful. This time I’d rather get a free joinery quote first and do it properly. It’s for a fitted storage job in a small room, so if anyone’s had good luck with a London joiner, I’d love a recommendation.

Yep, “close enough” almost never actually is — we learned that with a boxy wardrobe that left a gap wide enough to lose socks in. Never again. This time we got a joiner out first, and he pointed out the skirting height would’ve messed up a standard unit anyway, something we’d never have caught ourselves. For a small fitted storage job like yours, it’s worth getting eyes on the room before committing to anything. I’d try request a free joinery quote today  seems a decent way to get a proper look at the space rather than guessing dimensions off a tape measure and hoping for the best.
