I reached out to a local company that does carports like this. They quoted me such a crazy estimate that I seriously doubt a carport actually costs that much. My project is simple, nothing special.

You know, prices on building materials are jumping around so much right now, and unfortunately they’re only jumping up so far. It’s still hard for me to accept that the money I used to build a whole storage shed with, would barely cover half the project now.

So it’s better to reach out to a few different companies and compare quotes. Yeah everything’s expensive right now, I get it, but a lot of places jack up the price so much you could end up paying 1.5 to 2 times more than you should. Especially once they realize you don’t really know what you’re doing. These guys also give you an estimate upfront, and from what I’ve seen the final cost barely differs from that.
